Hypnotism Training
Hypnotism Training – If you’re training to learn hypnosis then rest assured that it is actually a lot easier than you may have been led to believe to get started with hypnotism.
I used to watch hypnotists hypnotize people and often think that they had some sort of mental control and power.
In fact, a lot of people think hypnosis is mystical or the people being hypnotized are acting because of the incredible acts they would witness people do during stage hypnosis, for example.
The people being hypnotized would believe a broom was their dream lover, or get their hand stuck to a chair without glue and even be handed a paper plate and told it was a steering wheel of a race car and they would actually drive the car as if it were really happening while the hypnotist made driving sounds.
When you see hypnotism in action, it is easy to mistake that the people on stage are less intelligent, unconscious, or clueless.
After investigating hypnosis I found it to be the other way around. You actually are completely aware in hypnosis, focus and concentrated, and because of this you have to actually be quite intelligent!
So if you’re looking to learn about hypnotism, hypnosis and how to hypnotize, then look no further.
Here are 5 training steps to learn hypnotism:
1. Practice on your friends or family.
Since hypnotism only requires a person to follow simple instructions, you can practice on your friends and family to see if you can hypnotize them.
After your confidence begins to build and you learn what to say and how to say it so that you can hypnotize people, then you can move on to attempt hypnosis clinically, on stage, or even on the street with complete strangers.
2. Overcome objections about hypnosis.
To do traditional hypnosis, you must inform the person you’ll be putting into hypnotism what is about to happen. You do this because you need their permission in order for hypnosis to work.
While there are other forms of hypnosis such as covert hypnosis, conversational hypnosis, and NLP, quality hypnotism requires the person you’re going to be hypnotizing to be open to becoming hypnotized.
In most cases, there are probably some objections the person you’ll be hypnotizing may have such as if they can get stuck in hypnosis, that they aren’t in control, and even believe that only less intelligent people can become hypnotized.
You want to inform the person that hypnotism is actually safe, you can’t get stuck, that they’re totally aware and can hear everything that is going on, and then challenge them by saying that they have to actually be quiet intelligent in order to allow hypnosis to work for them.
3. Do some hypnotic tests.
The key to hypnotism is to ask the person you’re hypnotizing to do simple and easy hypnotic tests and then follow with more and more intrusive tests.
There is a lot of trust involved so you want to get a person to do simple hypnosis tests at first such as saying “Close your eyes down tightly. Imagine they are sealed and glued shut and the harder you try to open them the tighter they close down to the point where you realize you cannot open your eyes and they’re locking down even tighter now. Go ahead and try to open them. You cannot … okay, now stop trying.”
The trick to get people to become hypnotized is to express that they didn’t fail — even if they opened their eyes during the test.
For example, if they did open their eyes during this simple hypnosis test you can say “That’s great. You just proved that you have the ability to concentrate on resisting this process. So it’s obvious that you have a strong ability to now focus and concentrate on the sound of my voice, so let’s try this again, this time, prove to yourself how intelligent you are as you focus on my suggestions.”
If they did not open their eyes during the test, you can then proceed to do more intrusive and more complicated tests such as their hands locking together where they can’t pull them apart or imagine a hot air balloon tied to one wrist while a sand bag is tied to the other.
4. Do a hypnotic induction.
A good hypnotist can get people to reach a level of hypnotism called somnambulism which is the deep hypnotic state of mind similar to sleep walking. While in this state, a person is extremely relaxed and the conscious mind is least resistant to the hypnotists suggestions.
To reach this level, the hypnotist will then say after giving them two to three tests “You’re doing just fantastic and you’ve proven to be an excellent subject. Now in a moment I’m going to relax you deeply and it’s going to happen very quickly.”
The typical way hypnotism at this point works is by doing a simple countdown. “In a moment I’m going to count down from five to one, and each number I count down from your body becomes double relaxed. Feel your body relaxing deeply as you hear the more I talk, the deeper you go into relaxation. Every muscle and every fiber allows to you relax and go deep, deeper, and even deeper as you focus on the sound of my voice.”
The hypnotist then counts down and makes up their own pattern. “Five… all the muscles in your feet are loose and limp as if they are made up of a wet dish rag … good, just let them go loose and limp, every muscle and every fiber in your body, going deeper, deeper still … four, that same quality of deep relaxation spreads through your calves and thighs, relaxing you even more, that’s right … etc.”
Since many people will wonder if they are doing hypnosis correctly, continue to affirm that they in fact are doing a great job, and doing everything perfectly.
5. Removing hypnosis.
After you’ve done your hypnosis session, you can then do the reverse process by counting up from one to five. Suggest the higher number you reach, the more wide awake and alert, refreshed, and wonderful they feel.
It’s always a good practice to say something like “any and all beneficial suggestions you may have heard today you can now take with you and experience positive changes and new possibilities to explore from this point forward.”
Well, that’s it for now. Maybe you have learned more with this post about hypnosis.

Hi I’m a therapist and you can find me on facebook under billmckay. I just wanted to say. I. Find most people on the web money driven self centred and dis honest. Obviously behaviour driven by money. I find with my limited experience with this man that he comes across genuine. A bit of an altruist. I tend to stick with this type. Also he keeps it simple. That’s a great asset. Bill
Hey Bill, thank you very much. I really appreciate your comment! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE money … and I’m grateful for it. And it gets even better when you can help others in the process of receiving it.
Thank you for taking the time to post

You’ve got it in one. Couldn’t have put it better.
All I have to say is Thank You.
A miollin thanks for posting this information.
Thanks Nathan, this article is very helpful. I’ve got to say that not only do you make learning Hypnosis interesting but fun too! I have a lot of negative friends and by using some of the patterns you have taught me I seem to get them back on track, laughing and enjoying themselves – it’s great! And this is just in a social setting – they’ve got no clue I am leading them from their problems and into a more positive frame of mind. It makes me feel good that I can help them. So Thanks Nathan you’re a pal!
Hey Ian, I’m glad to hear you’re successful at using hypnosis with your friends! It is nice to know that you are looking out for the best interest of others.

Short, sweet, to the point, FREE-exactly as ifnromatoin should be!
awesome stuff i have some tricks which are updated but then I see this and come to a realization I have to learn more. But perfect for those who are intrested in hypnotism.
Hi, I have been working on personal development for nearly 15 years. It is not yet clear to me how I can use hypnosis when I am looking at working with a group of people at a time rather than individually. What does hypnotism offer for a group training?
Hello Rajan, I can understand your concern when working with groups of people. I too myself have had these issues before and I’d like to offer you some tips if I may.
Tip# 1: Hypnosis Language is Actually “Unconsciously” Created By You
In other words, define your goal. What are you intending to do? Motivate? Generate passion? Excitement? Enthusiasm?
Your state of mind will ultimately lead you towards performing perfectly. When I do recordings or before I get up in front of crowds, for example, I always choose the proper “energy” or frame of mind to go into based on what I intend to deliver as a message.
Tip # 2: Stay Relaxed With Your Language
Most often when I’m working with public speakers, they are too concerned with getting “hypnotic patterns” right.
And because of this, their language becomes choppy and they fumble over their words.
Instead, just practice hypnotic phrases with the intention that you’ll unconciously speak them and lead everyone that listens towards a positive outcome.
Tip # 3: Develop A Hypnotic Voice
Hypnosis requires you to communicate, and most of it has to do with your voice. Choose an emotion that you would like to feel, and then speak as you feel it from the pit of your belly.
I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions, I encourage you to fill out our free form here so I can help you..
By doing so, I'm able to gather valuable feedback to ensure that my focus is in alignment with everyone looking to learn more about hypnosis. (So I don't get off track with what you want to learn more about).

Thanks for the great info I owe you big.
I work with heroin and drug addicts to focus on coming clean of their addiction. I’m always looking for new ways to induce sobriety so that it will be more permanent after the session. As weird as it may sound, I’m not motivated by money, just results. If you have any information to share, you are welcome to share it with me now, or you can wait until after you have breakfast….swamiganja
Sharing helpful tips with you about this subject is like trying to send you seeds in the mail of a crop that you may possibly already have a field full of because I haven’t ever visted your farm before.
…feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss this more specifically.

Tip #4: Be aware that the client is still susceptible to your wording. Even when you have counted and talked her/him out of her/his deep relaxation (hypnosis)
And when you have rounded up your session – that is when you have talked her/him out of deep relaxation – a person still can feel groggy. In this state of in between wake and relaxed, you can easily undo all the work you have done in supporting her/him to change while the person was in a deep state of relaxation. So, be quiet and let the moment be and mind your wording.
Yes – it is always quite good to allow your subject to absorb mentally what just happened.
A good question to ask — if any — is “Why might you begin to realize how much you’ve changed already?”

Nathan that is very good information to help someone just starting out and wanting to get their feet wet. I feel like the others that is watch what they say when the person is just coming out.
It is good to have this kind of technique when money people is too bussy to focus on what is realy important to life. Concentration, focussing on why we are here and doing accordingly is the most significant things in life. Hypnosis may help us more effective in life journey.
Ho ho, who wuodla thunk it, right?
I am very interested in learning how to modify behavioral patterns.
These tips can help anyone to understand what hypnosis is and more importantly what it isn’t. Thanks for the tips!
Quite an interesting post, some of these techniques has worked for me in ages past and at present. Addressing the issues of hypnotism is critical and cohesive. Thanks for the information
Way to go on this essay, helped a ton.
